After taking it down to the last hours, Caleb Swanigan has decided to stay at Purdue for his sophomore season.

The forward's decision became public at 3:50 p.m., ending days of speculation about whether he would stay at Purdue or continue toward the NBA Draft.

“We are excited that Biggie has withdrawn from the NBA Draft and will return to Purdue,” Coach Matt Painter said in a release Wednesday afternoon, before the midnight withdraw deadline. “He has the potential to make a huge jump from his freshman season and will be a big part of what we do next year. He received great experience going through this process and will use the feedback he received to make him a more diverse player.”

As a freshman, Swanigan started every game he played in, finishing third on the team scoring at 10.2 per game and nearly leading the Big Ten with an average of 8.3 per game.

The former McDonald's All-American and Indiana Mr. Basketball winner was named to the Big Ten's All-Freshman team and won league Freshman-of-the-Week honors three times.

During the NBA draft exploration process, he took part in workouts for the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Pelicans, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks, in addition to taking part in the NBA's draft combine in Chicago.

Purdue forward Vincent Edwards also declared for the draft, but withdrew on Tuesday.
